Ron Down  

Ron Down spent over 25 years working in the IT industry in a variety of technical, managerial and programme management roles before setting up his own company in 1994. Partnerships and collaboration are fundamental to the way that he works and Liberating Potential has been a key partner since 1997.

Ron’s in company career included a number of senior positions in both line and staff management for Digital Equipment Company in the UK.  There he gained significant experience of planning and managing major organisation changes, which included extensive process and people development work.

As an external consultant since 1994 Ron has specialised in Customer Service and sustainable continuous improvement, together with team facilitation and executive and personal coaching.

Key areas of work have included:

• Developing excellent customer service, organisation-wide
• Designing and running of continuous improvement programmes
• Authoring personal development programmes
• Authoring of problem solving and project management tools.
• Designing and implementing internal communication strategies
• Coaching of individuals and executives
• Delivering organisation development consultancy in support of business strategy
• Developing strategies for partnership working
• Providing training in facilitation skills

Ron has worked with organisations in the UK and abroad across a range of sectors including: IT, local government, communications, manufacturing, direct merchandising, NHS, transportation and charities.

Ron has a BSc. in Mathematics, is an NLP Master Practitioner and a certified NLP coach. He is a member of the International Coach Federation.

Ron is a member of the Council of Management of the Gestalt Centre, and does voluntary work as a member of School Coach – an organisation that aims to help all children to experience success regardless of academic ability or any other factors.
