David Willcock
David is an accredited coach with the Association for Coaching and provides executive coaching for individuals and teams - often as part of broader leadership or organisation development programmes. He has over 20 years experience of leadership and management development in the UK and abroad, training in psychology and skills in supporting personal and organisational change. He is particularly interested in improving performance through collaborative working - coaching individuals, the teams they belong to and working across organisations to achieve this.
David’s style is to balance empathy and compassion with insight and challenge. He instinctively relates to people from a perspective of where they are, pays attention to clients’ situation and context and builds trust through listening, openness and honesty. His work often involves dealing with difficult relationships that are important to the business, helping people or teams see the behaviours that support or hinder progress.
His key experience includes:
- Management and leadership team development and coaching
- Developing team working across organisations, including large groups
- Extensive coaching of individual leaders and managers
- Assessment and development work using a range of psychometric instruments
- Running leadership development programmes using action learning
- Organisation development consultancy in support of business strategy
- Providing organisation development support during significant changes, e.g. running change workshops to support people at all levels, developing organisation culture
- Providing training in coaching, consultancy and facilitation skills
David has worked with organisations in the UK and abroad across a range of sectors including: banking, finance and insurance; pharmaceuticals; computer software; electronics; consulting and professional services; food and drug retail; transport and logistics; central and local government and not-for-profit/charity.
David has a MSc. in Personnel Management, a Diploma in Gestalt Organisation Consulting and a post-graduate Diploma in Gestalt Therapy. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (Chartered FCIPD) and an accredited Member of the Association for Coaching (MAC). David is qualified to Level A with the British Psychological Society and in a number of Level B psychometric instruments including the Type Dynamics Indicator (MBTI), 15FQ + (16PF family), NEO PI-R, FIRO Elements and the Hogan Development Survey.
